Our Summer Highlight – 12 Days of Gifting with The Empty Stocking Fund
Guinness and gifting? Santa in July? Shots for tots? The answer was a resounding “YES.” Last month Brown Bag Marketing was tasked with creating the first-ever summer campaign for one of our non-profit clients, The Empty Stocking Fund. Supporters of this prestigious Atlanta based charity had multiple opportunities to give back with a fun-filled 12 day calendar running July 14 – July 25. Brown Bag Marketing created a number of promotional pieces to help advertise the campaign including the following:
- New campaign logo
- Complete 8 page sponsor package
- Website overlay
- Facebook tab
- e-Blasts
- AJC print ads
- Printed paper gift die cuts for individual donations
- Outdoor banner
- Table tents, posters, flyers, signage, etc.
As part of the 12 days, we worked with The Empty Stocking Fund and Bidding for Good to create an online auction with a number of items to bid on, from hotel and travel packages to autographed footballs and free Chick-fil-a for a year. When the auction closed at midnight on July 25th, we had raised almost $5,000! 73% of our items had bids and the amount of bids gathered surpassed our original goals and reached 259!
Another big portion of this campaign was our weekend festivities with Town Brookhaven. In addition to a huge raffle with some of the best swag from all over town, local radio station B98.5 came out to broadcast, Michael Tolcher played live acoustic, we set up a bounce castle and games for the kids, Marble Slab sold ice cream, Town Brookhaven restaurants like Newk’s and Boneheads passed out free samples, Noche and The Olde Blind Dog donated a percentage of proceeds, and Publix brought a cupcake decorating station and Plato, the dinosaur. Oh, and did we mention Santa rode in on a huge fire truck? The support received was humbling and we raised over $1,000 that weekend alone.
To end the campaign, Fado Irish Pub was generous enough to let us bring guest bartenders behind the bar to help raise money one last time for The Empty Stocking Fund’s summer campaign. The finale was an overwhelming success. In tips alone, we helped raised over $500. Fado also plans to donate a portion of food sales from that evening (and trust me, the baggers ate well that night). Special shout out to Pauline Pellicer and Jade Walter for some amazing creative!
To wrap up, the campaign was a success in more ways than one, and there is even more potential to make this twice as big in years to come. In addition to Atlanta supporters of this noteworthy organization, the Brown Bag crew donated time, money, livers and appetites to help one of our cherished clients and favorite Atlanta charities. A big thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the Empty Stocking Fund’s first #12DaysofGifting campaign. We are truly looking forward to next year!
