This holiday season, we have been hard at work supporting The Empty Stocking Fund, an Atlanta based non-profit organization that extends holiday cheer to more than 50,000 underprivileged children each year. Brown Bag has partnered with this organization for over four years now, and we absolutely love it!
A beloved brand since 1927, The Empty Stocking Fund’s donor base has primarily consisted of an older demographic. This year, we’ve focused on raising awareness about the organization with online platforms to target a younger audience by developing various email and social campaigns. These efforts have helped broaden The Empty Stocking Fund’s donor base and also increase the amount of traffic seen on their website and social media accounts.
In addition to running these campaigns, Brown Bag also updated The Empty Stocking Fund’s annual Sponsor-A-Child program with new designs and a digital engagement. Now, just by visiting their website, we have made it easier than ever before for individuals and corporate companies to get involved and help make a difference.
Since launching the new Sponsor-A-Child Campaign packet in November, The Empty Stocking Fund has see a 27% growth in their sponsorships. This year, many local Atlanta organizations got involved including Delta Air Lines, The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and WSB-TV. I took the initiative to run our very own Sponsor-A-Child Campaign at Brown Bag along with our sister company Vetlocity, where we were able to get 100% participation from all of our departments. You can really feel the joy every time you walk into our break room!
And our love for The Empty Stocking Fund doesn’t stop there. The Brown Bag team has also been busy volunteering at Santa’s Village, a toy distribution center for the many underprivileged residents of metro Atlanta. Weeks leading up to the opening of Santa’s Village, Brown Bag donated new computers and, with the help of our tech team, jumped in behind the scenes to help revamp the servers and speed up the operating systems processing each of the 50,000+ families expected throughout the month of December.
In the end, everything came together as the Baggers and Vetlociraptors (Vetlocity employees) got the chance to see Santa’s Village at work, and help give back to the families in need throughout our community. As you can see from the video below, we all really had such a blast, were very thankful for this opportunity, and can’t wait to do it all again in 2016.
Just in case you are inspired to give to this worthy cause after learning about how much fun we’ve had with this organization, we’ll leave you with one last bit of information.
