This Week’s Pick: “The Idiot” by Fyodor Dostoevsky

Book Bagger: Jade Walter, Junior Designer
Why did you pick this book?
One of my favorite books growing up was Dostoevsky’s ‘Crime and Punishment’, so I set out to read two of his other classics, [“The Idiot” and “The Brothers Karamazov”]. I’ve started each and finished neither, but THIS WILL BE THE SUMMER that I FINALLY complete them. They’re great thus far! But I’ve been short on time for many o’ summers….
Give us a quick summary:
“The Idiot” is about a pure-hearted, innocent prince that leaves his Swiss sanatorium to merge back into Russian society, where he is to collect an inheritance. The book follows how he affects and is affected by others that he meets along the way.
