It’s never too early to get into the gifting spirit, especially to help parents living in poverty provide gifts to their children during the 2013 holiday season.
Some of us might only think of Christmas during the month of December, but for the Empty Stocking Fund, the gift-giving holiday season is one that lasts all year round. The Empty Stocking Fund is a local non-profit here in Atlanta that has been bringing holiday cheer to underprivileged children since 1927. We have the privilege of counting them as a client here at Brown Bag, and this summer we are partnering with them on a special campaign.
At Brown Bag I’ve enjoyed working on many projects. But I have to say – nothing compares to the joy I’ve gotten working with the Empty Stocking Fund. Each year, the Empty Stocking Fund provides gifts for tens of thousands of children from birth to 12 years of age throughout Atlanta, enabled by the generous contributions received from local businesses and foundations. This year, to jump-start the gift giving spirit, the Empty Stocking Fund has launched their first ever summer fund raising campaign called The 12 Days of Gifting. The campaign includes an online auction and fun-filled family events that will run from July 14-25 through metro Atlanta. Last year, The Empty Stocking Fund supplied over 50,000 local children with holiday gifts. With the money raised throughout this year’s 12 day summer campaign, we will have the opportunity to serve even more.
It’s never too early to get into the gifting spirit, especially for a cause that helps parents living in poverty provide their children with gifts during the holiday season. So, join us in supporting the Atlanta community and spreading the joy to children in need! For more information about the Empty Stocking Fund or to find ways that you can get involved, visit their Facebook or Twitter pages, as well as the Empty Stocking Fund website. Hopefully I’ll see you at one of our events – look me up!
