A Brilliant Way to Serve Those Who Have Served Us

Did you know that military and police dogs retire with no guaranteed pension for their medical care? Often, these dogs have served loyally for many years, typically in high stress and dangerous situations, with the burden and cost of their long-term care falling solely on their loving caregivers. Recognizing this critical need, our client Zoetis – the largest global animal health company – created the RIMADYL® (carprofen) K-9 Courage program.

As an agency obsessed with pets, we are so excited and honored to be a part of this much-needed and deserved program. RIMADYL K-9 Courage provides financial and in-kind product donations of approximately $150,000 annually to 500 retired military and police K-9s. That equates to $300 per K-9, per year. Qualified pet-owners can use this money on anything in their veterinary clinic: checkups, prescriptions, grooming and even food! On Monday, March 9, we started taking assistance applications on the program website (RIMADYLK9Courage.com) and the response has been remarkable.

K9 Courage ProgramBrown Bag supported this project through our “Six D” process, project phases that make up the core of our strategy and delivery model here at Brown Bag: Discovery, Define, Design, Develop, Deploy, and Determine. This process helped us design K-9 Courage to be easy for our clients and their non-profit partners to manage and scale the program. Along with developing a program name, logo, and tagline, we also created trade show and sales materials and developed a responsive design consumer website. Because we integrated the program into RIMADYL Rewards, we facilitate the processing and shipping of rewards to K-9 caregivers, ensuring a truly integrated experience for everyone.

RIMADYL - K9 - Courage ProgramMost days of the week you can find a dog or two in our office. That’s just part of the Brown Bag culture; we love animals and we think it shows in our work for our animal health clients. There’s nothing better than going to work in an industry we’re so passionate about, but this project has been especially rewarding. To be able to help dogs that have worked so valiantly to keep us safe has been humbling and an honor.
